Religious extremism flourished in Somalia long before A/Y became prez of TNG due to many years of Mooryanism/ Warlordism in Mogadishu and the south, which created a power vacuum that allowed Islamists to come to power. Also, foreign troops in particular Ethiopian troops were already encroaching into Somali borders before A/Y came to power. Not a fun of A/Y, but lets be fair and put things in context.

Wrong, Puntland State runs its security forces Independently from Xamar. Villa Amisomdishu do not have the power or the authority to give PL forces orders. PL forces only take orders from the president of Puntland. I think you're confusing some Puntlanders who have enlisted in SNA or PL forces cooperating with Danab to fight Kebab on the Puntland/Galnus borders as being under SNA.
