The Albanian parents rejected him because he was black. That same reaction or disapproval wouldn't exist if the guy was a Turk or Arab. It had nothing to do with cultural compatibility. In the racial hierarchy classification amongst white people, any person who is a shade of darkness is seen as unattractive and not suitable for marriage. That includes Somalis. We are not any different than a Nigerian or Jamaican in the eyes of white people.

I would rather die than be labelled myself a black man. My boss and classmates called me black and I broke it down to them how I'm an African Somali and know my ancestry, they immediately understood and started referring to me as African which makes sense. SOMALI AFRICAN is all you need. Asians aren't called Yellow, and Indians aren't called Red (Anymore). Why do should we be called black, we know where we come from?
