Anfac Story is Fake.

We are already the face of FGM. That ship has sailed. India still holds number 1 for rape. There are still uneducated somali parents who have inflicted their diaspora kids with FGM. How about we fix the issue at hand instead of worrying about our "image". We might be "massive" but we are still a relatively unknown diaspora compared to other immigrant groups.
Fix it how?

most of these anti-fgm ”activists” haven’t done any real work, they do useless workshops and raise awareness to audiences that don’t do this practise and can not stop those who do from doing it (why are you holding 100 different talks in Edinburgh to cadan audiences? 🤔), can Jack stop some ignorant habo in Caabudwaaq from mutilating her daughter?

they’ve even been running around with that dodgy statistic ”98%” (these niqqas couldnt even be bothered to give us a proper nationwide study) for thirty years

Tbh I get where you're coming from. In the North, the practice seems to have died, especially in the urban places. They need to do another nationwide study on it. I think better enforcement on the FGM ban as well as a western-backed nationwide campaign against FGM like they did in ghana would be a good start.

However, a lot the anti FGM activists are victims themselves and live in the diaspora. Unfortunately, a lot of parents have taken that practice with them. Would you not say the deserve to hear about FGM too. I'd really like all somali seminars on this.

Could you tell me if you are diaspora or stupid or a trolling ajanebi? How can you possibly say that it has died out in the urban north and then say that “it’s common among the diaspora” when everyone knows full well that the majority of diaspora are northerners who were clan cleansed from cities? Like every one of your statements gives me a headache and I can give you a list of actual books by Somali scholars on the matter so you educate yourself.

We shouldn’t have to drag our image down to fix issues in our country. It didn’t benefit timo jileec women, it won’t benefit Somalis.

I'm a northerner, somalilander, whatever you want to call it. It died out after the mass exodus of somali refugees, mostly in the 2000s. And I never said it was common. Why are you putting words in my mouth? I said a lot of somalis kept those ideas of FGM when they left. I feel like you're the ajnabi larper, because how are you going to not only say that Somalia has "pagan elements", but deny the role sheikhs played in maintaining the "FGM is sunnah" narrative that has kept the practice alive?

That's why I said we should have all-somalis seminars on this. We shouldn't broadcast this ajanabis, but to somali women. The problem in that ajnabis are the one who has bigger reach than the Somali diaspora.

That’s not true at all. Thanks to FGM activists, many Somali women were actually educated about the horrific practice during the 90s and 2000s, which helped break the cycle. Because of these activists, schools became more aware and strengthened their safeguarding. Any child who went to Somalia during the school holidays was questioned and given a safe space to come forward if they had undergone FGM back home. That’s how many Somali mothers in the UK were arrested back then. One of my friends runs an FGM organisation, and she conducts these workshops that you call useless. Her organisation receives donations, and she has helped some Somali women get reversal surgery, changing their lives. She’s a hero💗. So please don’t be so ignorant.

There are elements of paganism in all countries, see Christmas trees in the west coming from the Norse religion

As for Sheikh, I don’t know of any accredited ulama who have ever said that.

There aren't in somalia. The prophet defeated the pagans in the middle east. Somalis were monotheistic before islam which is why they easily accepted it. Most pagan practices died in the 20th century and they were completely wiped by the time the civil war happened. Can you name any of the "pagan elements" you see in somalia?

And go research then before trying to deny it.

I genuinely don't tho. I care about ending FGM. We already the face so the only way to rehabilitate our image is with hard facts. Silencing Somali women is not gonna work lol. I dislike gaalo intrusion into our business and understand that the far right can use this as ammo. But we are not on the radar yet so it's not a problem to me right now. I barely hear stories anymore which is good.
