I agree fully. They will say ooh she will do it anyway. Basically the daughter threatens the father and he backs down. In a western context we are pretty low. Just look at the average household income of Somalis in America.

Status doesn't only come in the form of money, like i've said. Some below average white guy is a better catch in the minds of many ethnic women, than a man of their own ethnicity who's doing alright. Why? You know why.

Exactly....its inferior complex. People marrying out doesnt bother me close to the somali language and culture dying out. Men are culture carriers and women has always been followers. So many somali dad dont teach their kids somali language or culture. And no matter where you come from its hard to have a connections to country or people you dont speak their language. I have a 11 and 12 year old cousins and neither speak somali. My uncle never sat down with them and taught them somali. And every now and then he makes comment about how they dont know somali.
