The case of South Sudan has nothing to do withe Somaliland. Sudan allowed South Sudan to separate after the referendum results so they were OK with them being independent. Somalia still claims Somaliland as part of Somalia and since the FGS is the only recognized state entity the African Union and the international community still officially recognize somaliland as part of the federal Republic of Somalia
