Anti Somali sentiment has infiltrated into my personal life

I heard from my nephew that he noticed an uptick in anti Somali sentiment on social media mostly TikTok.

This took me back because i saw this trend from the inception and to see it grow to the point that ppl irl who have no interest in the hyper online Somali sphere are picking up on this is wild.

I don't think so. I regularly see anti-Indian hatred in real life (as often as once per week). I have never seen anti-Somali hatred in real life.

I have yet to see any racist sentiment irl because i hang around in professional spaces and im tall and so a racist who are mostly cowards would never try something like that to me.

Genuine anti-Somali sentiment barely exists in real life. The ajnabis who are the most racist towards us are the white right wingers who do so for the same reasons they dislike other minorities: because we are black and Muslim.

I'm sorry this happened to you while I haven't seen anything like this IRL people like to diminish the racism we suffer from since it's online even though the barrier between online and the real world is very small. Tiktok will be banned in the US with a decent chance it will be banned in other western countries in the times to come so we can maybe breathe a bit but X/Twitter is also another problem we need to deal with.

Instagram reels should be banned it's as worse as tiktok and everyone will just move from tiktok to Instagram reels if tiktok goes. Also youtbe shorts needs to go as people like yusuf7 goes viral there.

From the complaints on this forum , i recon that Somali hate is just a handful of posts/memes basically about a forehead, pirates etc on social media.

The regular Joe you meet in your daily life is not a phrenologist that's going to inspect the way you look and that's going to come at you in real life public setting because he saw a meme about forehead.

The other stuff you see is not really Somali specific hate, it's just hate towards migrants, Islam or black people in general which is really outside of us.

Also real attitudes largely come from real experiences, from listening to @Ghengis Kaarhis Indians are mostly disliked because people have general bad experience with them and their attitudes towards other people.

Somalis just generally seen as friendly ,kind , generous and social from those who have lived around us.

Search ''somalis are rude'' and search ''indians are rude' . The first one will just lead you to 2-3 somali forum sites and posts, whereas with Indian is just a diverse pool of foreigners on foreign sites and businesses constantly complaining about them.
