For some reason I've been drawn to central Asian recently. It's a fascinating place. The mix of cultures (Turkic, Persian, Chinese, Mongol), the history, mixed with the fact that it seems largely ignored in the modern day despite being one of the most important areas of the world historically as well as the crossroads between east Asian, the Middle East, South Asia and Europe.
