There maybe some similarities but that can be said about any language. To say Somali is an Arabic dialect is a bit of a stretch.

So a few Arabic loan words makes Somali an Arabic Dialect. By that logic so is Spanish:
•pantalones= بنطلون (Pantaloon) trousers
•Camisa= قميص (Camis) shirt
•Aceite= زىت(zayt) oil
