Arabs had no history before Islam. They were just mere followers for the parsians and the Romans until Islam came and freed them all.

They didn't have "a great empire" unlike their brothers in Yemen. In Syria, they were Romans (even though they were ethnically arabs) and the ones who lived in modern day Irak were persian arabs!

Arabs were not all the same. Some were under the influence of non-arabic civilisations and some were their own civilisation.
Yemenis even had a small influence from Christian Ethiopians for at least 300 years of occupation of Yemen by Ethios!
