That’s what surprises me. Not sure why some Africans still don’t get that lots of desi/arabs are not accepting of our communities nor do they want to be close friends with us. I never go to somali masjids, but when i do visit the local mosque I just say salam to whoever I see, pray and leave.

most Maghrebis are decent people.

I was in multiple Maghrebi mosques back in my muslim years;
they welcomed my family and I as guests. Back in 2010, after my arrival in Belgium,
it was the Ramadan and we wanted to pray after our break fast, and people from the Mosque (all-Maghrebis, esp Moroccans) welcomed us with succulent food and generous drinks.

Even after Islam, I still nurture decent relationships with Berbers and Arabs in France.
As a Somali, with Arabic as one of your mother tongue, people from MENA are more intrigued and treat you well.
