Somalis might be ancient Babylonian or even Sumerian. We are close to Yemen and the straits of Hormuz.

Try to take your fairy tale religious nonsense out of it and look that the question of civilization from the lens of anthropology. We Somalis were given this name "somali" from the British explores who sailed from Yemen to Berbera. The name "Somali" comes from So-maal which means to "go milk". The country Somalia was drawn up by the British colonial office, we had nothing to do with it really.

As for Babylon, yes Cushites could extend all the way up to the Tigris river and founded a city called Babylon. The language is very similar to Cush or Nubian but not Arabic as this came much later. The Arabs do not have a history outside of Islam (founded in 630 A.D). The Arabs invaded most of Mesopotamia some 1400 years ago with Islam which is not civilization but a book based on faith and not science which is what the Babylonians had been doing (Astronomy, mathematics, Agriculture, Code of law). So don't confuse Arab with Babylon or Sumerian as these people were much different to the president day Iraqis, Syrians or Jordanians. Think of the temperament of the Arab and ask yourself could these people build a pyramid or Ziggurat? But the Cushites could not because they had dark skin? does this make sense?

No need to insult people. You can state your opinion without vulgar language. However, my points are valid. Soo-maal means to "go milk" which alludes to the pastoral nomadic origins of the people now called Somalis. We do not have a written language until 1972 which means the word Somali is invented by outsiders to describe the people living in said region. Did a "Somali" call them selves a Somali? no. Only by clan title did "somalis" know anything about the population.

Apology accepted. Yes i have heard about the progenitor who according to Somali tradition is considered the oldest common forefather of several major Somali clans and their respective sub-clans. But it is simply just "that" a tradition with no outside text to support it. So my argument is just as valid as yours because one is based on myth (which is not knowledge) and my interpretation on outside sources that have written in their own language these people called Somali.

The ethnonym hypothesis of Soo-maal meaning "to go milk" can be found in the Book Who Cares about Somalia: Hassan's Ordeal ; Reflections on a Nation's Future, By Hassan Ali Jama, page 92.
