The decline of somali culture is sad man

As a person who has an afro right now, the amount of times my parents have begged me to cut my hair is astonishing. Only reason they do is because of the opinion of others.

Thank god I am studieing in a highly respected and lucrative field, otherwise hooyo and aabo would have got blood pressure. I am in my 20s too, kkkkkk still had to fight.

In all of those old pictures you can see somali men had a custom of growing hair. Also note the location and clan in those pictures varied so the long hair was normal in all of somaliweyn.

Lol that’s because there were no hair clippers people had to shave themselves bald with daggers so Somalia back then were reluctant to shave their hair.

Shaving with a sharp knife isn't as difficult as you think , walaal. Especially if one has help. I've seen reer guuraa among groups like the Afar do it with relative ease. Plus, there are accounts of head shaven individuals. And our ancestors didn't grow out their hair cos they had no choice and just begrudgingly rolled with it. In the accounts we have it is very clear that they enjoyed growing out their hair and styling it in various ways.
