AS- FGS war updates

I went on a long tangent probably longest posts on this forum, but if anyone is still reading I will now get to the crux and the reason of my post....why is Al Shabaab still relevant in the south and why are they still such a credible threat to the government? Not just in terms of military force, but social cohesiveness, justice and governance?

Because if you read all the above, would you want to live in a hellish society divided by clan with no protection other than being landheer?

The government in Xamar has been propped up for 19 years. What have they achieved? Forget liberating the country and uniting it, they can't even control and secure the two shabelles, dhexe iyo hoose. They have to airlift soldiers to Raskambooni because they can't travel by land. What have they been doing for the last 19 years? It's a complete failure and a clear sign of corruption and no long term ambitions....its all about sucking western aid money and enriching their pockets.

They enriched their pockets, but what about the population? The population who is living in poverty, with no education, no healthcare , no future prospects and at the same time have to contend with clans wars/oppressio, and get caught up between AS who bombs them vs a Gov that doesn't care about them and Amisom who sees Somalia as a cash cow.

Wallahi its a sad situation, and in any normal society the people would rebel and held the gov accountable. But unfortunately the gov is immune from any criticism otherwise you will be labelled as an AS supporter.

What's embarrassing enough for the gov is that the people in Xamar, and the South whenever they need to settle disputes they go to AS courts instead of the Gov ones. Why? Because AS courts don't look at your tribe, your wealth or status but instead gives a fair justice whilst the gov even if you're the victim they will ask for bribes and still rule against you if the other side gives more money or is from a bigger tribe.

I know people forget who live in Somalia, I know people who used to come from the West and catch a bus outside Mogadishu to go to AS courts in order to settle land disputes. I know a woman who is Darood Dhulbahante(mums friend) she was married to a Russian man back in the day, her land was taken by her Sister in law(Marexaan) and the marexaan woman was winning the federal court case during farmaajos time(qabiil connections.) The dhulbahante women went to the AS courts, they called the marexaan woman and she went on the defence saying that the dhulbahante woman was married to a gaalo man and had no rights to the land. Anyways, they said our issue isn't who she's married to but whether this land is hers or not, she produced the documents and the land was rewarded to her...they told the marexaan woman to vacate the house in 3 days.

That and many cases. Another about a reer xamar cad cad guy getting his land back from a minister of government who used his government position to xoog his land. No bribes, no corruption, no qabiil.

That's how a government court is meant to act, but In the crazy world of Somalia you won't find that with the Central gov but the terrorists in the sticks who make court decisions under a tree which is binding by force.

Forget land cases, even bus drivers or transporters of goods from state to state talk about the difference in systems. If you enter an AS territory you pay at one checkpoint and are given a receipt. You just show your receipt at any other checkpoints and don't have to pay anything else, but with the gov soldiers isbaaros they want money at every checkpoint.

The only thing that is keeping this gov alive is the foreign support. Wallahi they don't have local support that I know for sure.

For the people back home they are living in a catch 22 situation......they realised after the civil war in 06 that the only form of government that can combat qabiil is an Islamic government. I honestly think if Somalia continues like this we will not see a proper government in our lifetime. There is more chance of a gov being formed if the life support of the Central gov in Xamar is taken away, either they fend for themselves or following the natural course of developments 20 years ago...AS or another Islamic movement will gain power with ease.

They need to start funding Puntland army not foreign armies.. It's the most capable somali force all Isis strongholds where cleared from the region in a few weeks. We could easily take over lawless southern Somalia if we were given tanks, artillery, surveilance drones etc.

If I was reer Puntland I wouldn't even bother with southern politics with its 100 qabiils. Enjoy your stability and peace in Puntland and invest to improve your situation for your citizens there.

Alshabab invade afgoye town right next to Mogadishu

Ayo I keep seing this "cirka news" as a source everytime I come around the forums to catch up on the news. According to them AS have "encircled" Banadir and xamar will fall any day now. I gave them a visit and whaddaya know it's a fdk source masquerading as a news source :damn:
I see an angry wadani that's slightly heavy worded  You confused Jowhar with Mogadishu brother I haven't seen them talking about encirclement of Mogadishu
