Tbh qatar stopped taking athletes around 5-10 years ago. They decided to focus on development and If you see their athletes they’re all pretty much home grown now. Same with Saudi and UAE.

Bahrain are one of the only countries left who take athletes now.

I think I read somewhere that ayanleh souleiman is from awdal, but he represented djibouti. They probably send all the good runners from Awdal to come run in Djibouti

He's not from Awdal. He's Samaroon Djiboutian born in Djibouti City.

Most of them are home grown. They bring players from abroad to play in their academy but that’s literally it.

I know about this one fella, Abdisalam Ali, who's only 22. He tahriibed to Switzerland in 2016 and started participating in and winning many competitions. He recently won the Geneva 10km marathon in May. It's all a shame he's doing it under Somalia. He should be going to the Olympics for Switzerland.

Shoutout walaal but I don’t think it’s Olympic standard. But he’s young though, marathoners typically peak in early 30s and he could 100% become Olympic level in the future.
