You could guess what happened next, targeted killings stopped immediately because those terrorists realised there are consequences for their actions, their tribesman would no longer provide them a safe haven to operate from.

In the old days entire villages were raised to the ground as a consequence if you were not able to control your lone-wolf tribesman.

Al-Shabab have now changed tactics as a result by using your own tribesman against you who is on their payroll as a means of intimidating you into submission, your own uncle will call you and threaten you on their behalf.

They use this tactic now in Mogadishu, the only way to counter this tactic is to risk your hereafter by threatening to kill his wife and children too if anything happens to you and follow through on this promise, if a few people did this al-shabab will be finished.

The wholesale corruption and abject poverty in the country is what allows them to flourish by offering the down-trodden, merciless, poor outcasts plenty of $$$ to become their foot soldiers.

You won't care about your qabiil when you are starving and the qabiil you come from refuses to help you.

The most obvious and easiet way to get rid of Al-shabab is when all the federal states (SL, PL, JL Etc) come together, put their disputes aside and kill Al-shabab together. All the clan militias that are able to fight should unite their soldiers and kill those terrorist rats but Somalis are too stupid to realize this. Instead of fighting the real enemy, Somalis would rather fight in clan wars and sometimes use Amisom to fight their wars for them.

AUN. Devastating news. This is why I say Somalia is cursed. It will never prosper. Wa meel dhimatay. I’ve washed my hands from this country. Countless killings of people trying to make a difference in their country. It’s a place that thrives in chaos and destruction.
