Never was trees there tbh. Places next to the river is farmland and the rest is just thick shrub bushes. Only middle and lower Jubba as well as lower shabelle had jungle like trees. Hiraan, middle shabelle and gedo didn’t

I actually agree here lol. But I think they are going to add linings in the middle and get rid of the ciid they dashed on the side of the road

They did a poor job near the end. too many twist and turns, if not careful will result in serious accidents.

It’s not a very good job I must admit. But it is better than nothing. This road used to hurt my ass every time I travel to Mahadaay and nearby tuulos. As long as it just got built, I hope the goverment make changes afterwards

I think they rushed this project primarily because AS was killing and targeting the Turkish contractors and crew workers stationed in this route

Yeah most likely. But look here galkacyo to garoowe road looks a bit similar don’t you think? Just less greener and naturally beautiful . As we know not everyone was blessed with lands that rest easy on the eye

I don’t understand why Somalis dig up the earth then place tar on the ground. consider us lucky If these roads last us even 5 years. it needs constant repairs because of how bad it is designed.

Why can't Somalis just stop being corrupt for a little bit? Azerbaijan was able to build 3 modern airports within 2 years for less than 50 million dollars. They built them right after retaking the area from Armenia

Azerbaijan is an oil and gas producing nation ofcourse they can afford mega projects. Any project whether good or bad is needed in Somalia.

It's not about the money, even small things can be done. Somalia gets loans and aid every year which is meant for development projects yet nothing gets done. Just look at how quick Azerbaijan built those airports and roads. Why can't we follow a similar model in areas where AS isn't a problem? We still use Kacaan infrastructure in most of the country from North to South.

Really? Strange, I thought there were some roads there built to help move livestock faster to Burco. Burco and Berbera were the cities that got the most development in the North and were richer than some Southern cities during that time so I assumed most roads were built around them to get to them.

also back to I said. Aid should be monitored, actually aid should just get paid directly to contracting companies to build things, we can't trust Somalis. We might as well have a contract company from China do it but hire Somali workers.


Even the Taliban of Afghanistan and North Korea are able to build infrastructure in their countries, we have no excuse Wallahi. It's sad
