Canada was the promised land for Somalis in the early 90s cities like Toronto where much safer and affordable then NYC which was the Somali hub in North America in the 80s

there was more Somalis in Canada then America until the mid 2000s believe it or not

I still believe there are more Canadian Somalis than American. I’ve been all over in both countries. I think many American Somalis used to live in Canada too.

Lots of Darods moved to America in the early to mid 2000s and even the 90s. Neighbourhoods were being emptied. It was clan based moving.

I don’t want to go from cold to colder. Also MN is too small I saw Minneapolis has a smaller population than Harlesden and that’s a borough.

Big city, good weather, lots of Muslims, great quality of life, good women. I was thinking Dallas

some Somalis from other states have been moving to Dallas lately the population over there is growing fast Texas or Florida would’ve been perfect for Somalis good weather good jobs great vibes I guess they choose MN cause it’s cheap

England became terrible post 2015. I have been there pretty much every year for like 20 years. Its very sad what has happened to England.

True Midwest is affordable Somalis even have big population in other Midwest areas like louisville KY and KCMO especially recently yeah all types of Somalis in MN
