Bale and east hararghe in Somalia

Thought this was about Gareth Bale...

Both Bale and East Hararghe have a sizeable amount of Oromo/Amhara population now.

Had it been given to Somalia; and considering the movement of the Nomadic Darods expanding into fertile lands, they would've been displaced from there.

Prior to the Europeans arriving, both Southern K5 and south of the Jubba river were inhabited by Arsi/Wardey/Borana Oromos until Somalis, who mostly came from North of the Shebelle river, came and usurped their land after an illness had befallen on them.

They still are, I spoke to this one bale oromo on Twitter who says his clan had more interaction with somalis than oromos and have somalis inside their clan, dude was a somaliweynist and an oromo Nationalist at the same time. Hit different cuz he was more pro somaliweyn than many Somalis are (mostly beesha issaq)

What about arsi oromos how do they feel

Why are issa lands in oromia and tigrayan lands in Ankara region
regional borders are a bit fucked but you get the point of the post. none of the river sources are in the galbeed so itd be stupid not to swipe some extra land

heres a religious map of ethiopia overlayed on that same map. all (except 1 which is in the protestant oromo area) the river sources are in muslim majority regions. in some mystical hypothetical scenario, one could easily waffle about liberating the muslims under tyrannic rule and take the sources:kanyeshrug:

The areas that OP is talking about are highland regions that receive a lot of rainfall, camels would not survive in those regions since it’s too wet. The lowland regions of Bale are inhabited by Somalis however.

Also we could all benefit from the coffee production

Yeah, I know.

Some Aulihaans (Reer Afgab, Reer Warfa) expanded into the eastern peripheries (lowlands) of the Bale region, as you mentioned. The region is now called 'Afdheer' and they settle there exclusively.

But you're right, Nomads would not survive in an already humid and wet condition, so going farther than that would not be feasible.
