The man overthrew a democratically elected government, slaughtered tens of thousands of innocent civilians, imprisoned all who spoke out against him, fragmented the national military, bankrupted the nation, destroyed nationalism and encouraged tribalism, split the country in half (amongst other things), and yet people overlook that an blame aided and co, because “Xamar was untouched”. Not saying that he didn’t have a hand in the continuation of the war, but the sole blame of the civil war lies with the Barre regime. Imagine solely blaming the Sudanese military for their current predicament, and not once mentioning the actions of the former president Omar al Bashir. I just find it a bit laughable lol, to each their own I suppose.
