It’s has nothing to do with money and Africans. Saudi is looking after its own interest by accessing the vibrant Ethiopian agricultural market. The initial plan was to set up a bridge from Djibouti to Yemen but since the war in Yemen failed the new option is to use Baraawe port and link a road from Baraawe to Ethiopia. Saudi Arabia will get fresh produce directly from Ethiopia without facing problems from houthis.
