I heard he was ribbed off Captain Phillips even though he played a big role the boogeyman, the villain. He was paid a pocket change, less than 100 thousand dollars.
I feel bad for him lol he receives hate from Somali community because he isn’t attractive.

As for what is ugly, it is in the eye of the beholder. All ethnic groups have thier good and bad looks but Barkhad is your average Somali in looks. I wouldn't diss him much if I were a somali. He is genuine too. If he was insecure, he would have changed his appearance and spent money on fake looks like all Hollywood actors do. Barkhad deserves respect for being Original. Westerns are not offensive it what you type cast yourself. For instance there are arabs that choose to play roles as terrorists in movies and they stay in that role forever due to the choosing that role from the beginning.
