Been on my mind lately.

Most people would say drowning or burning alive is the worst way to die. But after some deep thinking I’ve come to the conclusion that dying in your sleep is actually worse if you look at it from an akhira perspective. Imagine you sleep, pass away and you end up waking up in your grave with the two frightening angels standing over you and one of them has a hammer in their hand. When you sleep your soul is already taken and if you die while sleeping it doesn’t get returned to you. So you don’t go through the whole angel of death process (I think) Scary thought... Motivates me to never miss a prayer specifically Isha & Fajr.

Yeah, you’re right about not going through the angel of death process, since your soul is not with you. Unless the person wakes up midway during a cardiac arrest/heart attack or whatever it is they’re facing.

I have a question to ask. Why do the angels have a hammer? :kendrickcry:

I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong

So they can use it on Zionist loving creatures of the world.

Cuz they’re gonna smack you with it if you don’t answer the 3 questions.
I’m scared as f*ck man :mjcry:
But I don’t understand... Seeing the Angel of Death’s appearance is scary. Death is already painful. Taking the soul away from the body is painful. Watching the Angels in the grave is frightening. That’s too much.

What if the faces are so frightening that I can’t answer the questions??

Angel of Death’s appearance is only scary if you weren’t righteous when you lived.

The taking of the soul isn’t painful for the righteous.

The Angels will be frightening for both the righteous and non-righteous, but the righteous won’t be afraid and they’ll remain calm. Allah talks about it in the Quran.

May Allah protect us from punishment.

That's why it's important to pray and ask Allah's forgiveness before you go to sleep. You never know if you're going to wake up again. May Allah make it easy upon us to adhere firmly to worship him.

Ameen. You know what I learned and that I had no idea about? (lots don’t either) You don’t answer the three questions verbally. Your heart answers it because if you lived a good life it will answer correctly. But if you haven’t, it’s not like you can practice the answers and still be sinful.

It made me more conscious about how I live.

Ameen again. I have a question for you. So Allah is All-Merciful & has the capacity to forgive any sin. However, I’m scared because I don’t think it’s that realistic. For example, I don’t see why Allah would forgive someone who isn’t righteous, but asks for forgiveness just before they go to sleep? Hopefully, you can help me make sense of this.

I know you didn’t quote me, but I want to tell you that those thoughts are from Shaytan. Allah says that He will forgive all of your sins, even if they were as huge as the ocean (I’m paraphrasing here May Allah forgive me). As long as you genuinely seek tawbah and constantly seek forgiveness, Allah will forgive you inshallah.

Jannah and Hell fire are both made for sinners. Jannah is for the sinner who seeks forgiveness and Hell fire is for the sinner who’s arrogant.

Allah forgives those who seek his forgiveness and then try and change for the better.

The angel of death must be scary af so wouldn’t it be better to just skip that and die in ur sleep and go straight to the grave. since everyone will end up there anyways

Thank you for your help.

One more question. If I seek forgiveness, but have a doubt in my heart about Allah’s power & capacity to forgive, would I go to hell for that? I would think that doubting Allah, in any shape or form, would be a ticket to Jahannam

No, doubting Allah is a comes through everyone’s mind at least once. You can’t control your thoughts. Just say Acuudibalhi and seek refuge with Allah from Shaytan. You wouldn’t go to Jahannam for that.

Nice wisdom, one thing i am terrified of is going to sleep and never waking up again.

That’s interesting because that would be my method of choice to die. I always pictured it as the least painful but I’m pretty sure you do become conscious momentarily as your body is shutting down. Allah SWT knows best.

Only thing I ask Allah SWT is to give me a death that doesn't require an autopsy report. The image of that scar is burned into my brain.

The sad thing about dying in your sleep is the shock and pain, of your family discovering you body in the morning. At least your weren't alone and were surrounded by people who love you.
