with just small work of blue paint and repairing the roads, we could turn Berbera to next chefchaouen the blue city in Morocco. It will boast the economic especially with DP deal and building of new 5 star resort. Berbera +Blue paint+roads=next chefchaouen. The first 3 pictures are of Chefchaouen ( the most beautiful town in Morocco )

It will take more than paint to fix Berbera Lol.

Not to worry, Reer berbera should keep their port revenue and tell the government to f*ck off. Their city (Somaliland's economic heart) is ignored while it's money and revenues are taken and spent somewhere else

That'd be interesting to see. Those initial pictures are really beautiful. But i have to agree with Duke, it'll take alot of work and cooperation to get it done. And sorry to say, but Somalia is really short on both.

Rome was not built on one day, we could start with little changes fixing the roads, then painting the homes blue....,,just baby steps.

We don't need to copy a city in Morocco or paint houses blue. Berbera is a city that has existed for a 1000 years and has its unique history, architecture and heritage.
We do need to rebuild the crumbling city though and the old city needs to be protected.

^Sounds like a plan. Hit me up whenever you start the work. I'll supply my own bucket of blue paint.

Why follow another person's culture and copy them? That is an insult to our cities rich 1000 year old architecture and culture

Why is she so concerned with Berbera, a city she has nothing to do with, instead of the village of laascaanood?

Laascaanood needs blue paint.

^Lol, chill man. You too Mr.Waraabe. It's just an idea. Understand that getting triggered doesn't help anyone. And dividing ourselves even further is not the smartest thing to do either. So let's just relax. We have to take an effort to let our fellow somali's try their hand at something, instead of being crabs in a barrel. Otherwise we'll find never success, but instead be stuck in an endless fight with each other about what should be done, instead of getting anything done. So

Kismayo can never be compared to Berbera. Not even on the same league. Berbera, one of most ancient somali places, most profitable port and with the dp and Ethiopia deals will be the single most important somali port and city. Kismayo which has never been heard of, located in the worst possible place where Kenya can just walk in can never be mentioned in the same sentence as berbera

Kismayo, hobyo, etc are in the same league

Un
few air-conditioning units can fix the place.

:chrisfreshhah: desperate eh. Well if Kismayo is better then we shall see in the future. Even hobyo is going to be ahead of Kismayo with the Iraqi investors.

Berbera is making nice revenue now ($140m a year I believe) after the expansion, investment and Ethiopia deal I suspect at least $1bn.

Non the less, I wish all somali prosperity and wealth.

Went to Berbera. The place is a ghost town

It is too hot, people don't go outside much and they come hargeisa or sheekh in the summer.

But after flying from dubai to Djibouti to Berbera, I believe that berbera is not as bad as dubai and djibouti. It will get better when air conditioning comes to every place
