how did SL pay for this? Or is it a loan?
These cranes are around 30-40 Million each.
Last year Berbera installed the RTG Cranes.
Each one of these cranes cost £2.5-3 million, and the Liebherr Berbera order is for 8 of them. That is £20-25 million in rubber-tired gantry cranes alone.

When I went to Hargeisa alot of people were angry of the mmechanization of the ports. It lead to alot of jobs being redundant and further increased the profit of the corrupt government.
Same happened in Mogadishu with Turkish modernization.
Hargeisa also made a deal with truck drivers from Ethiopia, they will be allowed to head straight to the ports instead of the previous system which had Somalilanders transport it to the border.
The mayor of berbers is a model for other cities. We In burco need to get rid of ours
Beyond the actual news of installation, which is great, is this the best shot video of a Somali project?
Absolutely breathtaking.
Berbera is a giant in the making. There is simply no denying it at this stage.
DP World is pushing hard to turn it into the juggernaut of logistics and trade in the Horn. In the video you can see the first use of the new expansion.
Berbera is the blueprint for what massive sustainable and productive development should look like.
Bravo.
