Black Americans go to Palestine to help and get called racial slurs 💀

Isn't this a Dangerous Border to attempt to trespass?

In what world is Anti-Arab eventually Kufr? Wouldn't that just be making Arabs or should I say Arabism synonymous with Islam which is the very problem and root cause of all of this.
I never said that, I said there’s a trend of people insulting Islam and hiding it under anti-arabism, or they become Kufr, and that these people slightly view islam as Arab culture, when it’s not, this obviously doesn’t mean we can’t criticise Arabs, or that everyone who has anti-Arab views becomes ex-Muslim.

Anti arabism is a gateway drug to apostasy.

Now hear me out on this one.
Anti Arab rhetoric =/= kufr

However there are many people out of nationalism or hatred for Arabs forgo the entire deen.

Now i ain't saying you cant criticize Arabs but its just a thing i noticed.

Dude, Arabs would bury their daughters into the fucking ground, ALIVE, that's how ignorant and backwards they were back in the day. These people were in need of a major ethos overhaul, they should be grateful that Allah chose for them to receive the last guidance.

And look at how they squander it off today, It shouldn't be surprising to anyone that Arabs behave like this, what's surprising is when people act like it's a one shot occurrence or an anomaly, please get real. :sass1:

I usually agree with your take but opinions like these just make Islam look like an Arab Supremacist Religion.
This has been a belief i have held onto for a long time from observing how hyper-nationalism and extreme anti Arab haters go.

Another person fighting ghosts.

Where did i say remotely any of that?

DId you not read the part where i said "Now i ain't saying you cant criticize Arabs but its just a thing i noticed."

Reading comprehension is a shocking issue amongst somalis i have taken to notice.

But still I don't think Arab Criticism is gateway to apostacy.

The Extremist Wahabist Mindset that formed Al-Shabab was a Carefully Engineered Mindset from Arabia and imported by them. I don't think pointing this out will lead to kufr because spoiler alert-it's true.

Same way how their government salivate and wh0re themselves out for cadaans and in contrast hold an intense hatred for the rest of the Global South.

Your only proof of this happening is a deleted TikTok. None of the workers came out sharing that they suffered racism.

You people have such a weird obsession with Palestinians. Always talking about how you aren’t boycotting or care about them yet 24/7 on this forum you’re talking about them.

You don’t have this same energy towards other Arabs when talking about the racism of Arabs. Just them. Especially not toward Saudis or Syrians who are just as vile if not more.

This isn’t even to play captain save an Arab or downplay their racism but at least use something that actually happened.

Did you not watch the video? She literally says the experienced racism but that they shouldn't have spoken up. what do you mean "you"? We're saying arabs and that's ALL arabs, Gulf arabs, levantines, north africans etc. Quit trying to paint a sole victim narrative for racist Palestinians. We can acknowledge their suffering and criticise their behaviour towards black charity VOLUNTEERS!

:dead:

This is a culture that enslaved blacks for 1500 years only ended by colonial powers in the 20th century, where they casually refer to blacks as cabiids in every day conversation.

The abuse and humiliation sub saharans go through even in dirt poor places like Lebanon will astonish you. During the recent conflict, I remember reading reports of African maids being locked in their employer's houses while the families fled to bomb shelters :icon lol:

I couldn't give two shits about these people.

With u 100% but I still feel for them.
Just one of those things I guess.
Images of people being brutally maimed will always tug @ my strings.

Cacs excluded, i just don't have it in me to cast off an entire group like that even if on average they're mostly dickheads.

Ijbollllll so their international aid organization was able to get into Gaza when there has been a total blockade and even the UN hasn’t been able to get in? That’s all you people are talking about when it wasn’t even in Gaza, it was the West Bank (during an active assault apparently).

In the video (now deleted) she literally did not say “I experienced this act of racism” she just made so inflammatory accusations and just talked about how racial dynamics are different there than in America did she not?

Show me where any black aid workers said they experienced racism or corroborated her story.

Also the video being circulated and the story being told by don’t seem to be the same at all. Even the comments appear to be talking about something different. People are conflating some story floating around with that.

I’m not painting a “sole victim narrative for Palestinians” nor defending them.

I’m just questioning how did this turn into accusations of racial abuse of black volunteers when there is literally nothing else but a deleted video to claim that there was. No name of the organization or anything.

Outside of Palestine, why are you going to those soulless deserts in the first place? The UAE sucks so bad and they've been causing trouble in Somalia. Saudi arabia outside of the holy sites are the same and has done pretty big damage to somalia too
I don’t really care for them outside the three harams. I had a Sudanese tell me not to travel to the UAE and boycott, idgaf I’ll go where I want.

And the person running the charity pretty much told them they were being dramatic and playing oppression Olympics when they complained 💀

Like sorry I don’t want to serve food and medicine to a bunch of ungrateful ingrates who are calling me a nigiger while I travelled across the world to help their stupid asses.
You just go and come back to make the spiciest Threads 😂

I don't really buy it. I grew up around Shamis as well as many other Arab groups. Arab racism is nothing like cadaan racism in my experience. It's actually more similar to Somali racism. They'll maybe say some shit once you leave the room or to each other in Arabic or just sort of implicitly look down on you but there's almost never any straight-up calling you slurs, getting aggressive or being rude in any way to your face or weird behavior like, "Go back to your country!" — even among the most rural Badus amongst them.

You'll only encounter cartoonish racism among kids and, funnily enough, then it actually seems more western influenced as these little kids will use the n-word and be emulating western racists rather than saying 3abeed or manifesting anything Arab.

When Arabs in the west see my name they always hook me up. Can they really be that bad? :obama:

Yeah, they're not honestly racist toward us in the UAE at least. You'd see some silly racism from kids here and there but once people hit their teens to young adulthood it was essentially nothing but brotherly vibes, especially if you were a Somali who spoke Arabic. They're raised up to believe we're "Arabs" by their school systems cos of the league membership and it doesn't help that a lot of Khaleeji Somalis do know how to speak Arabic or that our mother tongue sounds similar to Arabic (Cas, Xas and Khas) with lots of Arabic loanwords. Some Arabs seem to weirdly believe Af-Soomaali is just some strange Arabic dialect like Dirija as a result.

But yes, they'll get territorial about intermarriage but that would be true toward a Shami, an Iraqi, an Iranian or anyone not of their qabiil, area or generally not a Khaleeji Arab. Though the OP is not wrong that, underneath the surface and despite the brotherly behavior, there is a slight racism where they look down on us a bit due to our Africanness but this greatly varies from person to person.

I grew up around them in the UAE. The school I went to in Dubai was owned by a Masariyad and was like 60-70% or more Masari at one point. Waa good folks. Boisterous, loud and hilarious as well. We have similar vibes as peoples. You automatically get like a 90% discount on all Egyptian historical exhbits due to the Arab league membership as well if you flash a Somali passport and sometimes the exhibit security guards will give you preferential treatment and let you see areas they will refuse other ajanabis due to closing times or whatever else.

Arabs tend to treat Somalis quite brotherly. Despite some of the ignorant westerners on here acting like the UAE is soooo racist toward Somalis, 99% of the issues we've had with the UAE are recent and political:

The population in the Gulf, particularly in the UAE, has shrunken significantly. It all started when Farmaajo—I would say rightly—caught the UAE trying to bribe Somali politicians with something like 10 million dollars of undeclared cash and seized it in Xamar. Started a whole fiasco where the UAE began to break down relations with the FGS. One thing to understand is that these places are monarchies, essentially absolute ones. One man or family's whims are the constitution. So they were reeling up at their higher-ups' behest to deport all Somalis at one point until Farmaajo flew in to Abu Dhabi to ice things over with them. They had a similar snafu with Djibouti and Djiboutians that was thankfully averted.

But since then they still just made things hard on Somalis. My dad and I were starting and owned an import-export operation in Sharjah a few years back and the amount of red-tape they put us through just for being Somali passport holders was outlandish. Even an aunt of mine who was a police officer for 38 years in Sharjah was given trouble when she retired and wanted to start a small shop to keep her visa and retire, "We will put you all through what your president put us through" a high ranked individual said to her when she complained about her visa situation. An uncle of mine who has business holdings in Xamar would get stopped at the airport everytime he flew into Dubai. They'd question him for hours and try to convince him to become an informant on the goings on of Xamar since he rubbed shoulders with some notables back home.

Simply ridiculous. Somalis just didn't feel at home or welcome anymore so most like the Xamar uncle moved to Kenya, Turkiye, and even Qatar to some extent. A few years back I remember running into a nice Emirati officer in Ajman one time when I had to visit a government building there and he recognized me as Somali and was overjoyed but also incredulous that I was "still around". In his words, "I grew up with so many Somalis! Love you guys, wallahi. But most of my friends left for Canada, America, the UK or wherever. You guys had entire neighborhoods to yourselves in Ajman. Shame. No future here, wallahi." —felt almost uncomfortable when he said that last bit, can't be saying anti-government things here but I understand what he means in that even if we could trust them not to suddenly deport us all they ultimately don't offer citizenship or even permanent residency (golden visas being only recent and pretty limited) so even people who feel otherwise secure in the place leave for somewhere like the west in search of a more permanent situation. Shame...

But even so, you can definitely still find some Somalis huddled up in Souq al-Dahab (Gold Market) in Dubai with several shops but yeah, we're not as common to spot in Dubai and other Emirates anymore. Is what it is.

Before this Somalis, Yemenis and Sudanis were among the few non-Khaleeji nationalities allowed to become cops. Understand what I'm saying, they wouldn't allow Iraqi, Palestinian or Syrian Arabs to become cops but they allowed Somalis. That's how much respect they tended to have for us.
