Got 2 episodes left and so far it has been good. It does very good job at humanising us somalis. Best character is definitely the adeer who filmed everything. He has very good english and is charming.

There is still some Hollyweed american glorification going on but overall the doc does its job well. The world most powerfull country knows us because of this battle and by some extent piracy. Telling our side of the story on these 2 matters is extremely important. Battle of Mogadishu happened because americans started overstepping peoples boundaries and eventually killed civilians, all of this after first iniatially welcomed as heroes. This is shown in the doc.

Black hawk down was a propaganda masterpiece, it inspired more war related movies as it did so well. It’s good to see this doc at least try to rewrite the narrative portrayed in that movie which made us look like barbarians attacking our Anglo saviours who came to feed us.

The truth seeker

Silent weapons for quiet wars
We are very lucky dick Cheney was not defense secretary in 1993 and that his boss got defeated in the 92 election don’t think they would have taken the humiliation without killing a bunch more civilians
