The likely result is, the teacher is a grown man in the wrong. Unfortunately, the hispanic teen as much as a annoying tripped up hype he displayed himself to be, is still a minor. In the eyes of the law, the teacher is an professional adult who should've "conducted himself better." Because, if it was ever brought in a court case even though he was provoked more than once still shouldn't enticed a fight with a minor student which he did land the first punch on him.
It is technically teacher assault regardless of ethnic background, it is a question of morality.

No, this doesn't show evidence of a hate crime. This rather, was just a enticed dispute that lead to assault. Which should've never happened from any teacher ever regardless of colour, gender, or background. Also, whenever a customer (in this case, student) wants to feel right, you always get a manager involved (in this case, principal or consoler.)
