So does my family. They just live their lives. At the end of the day, it is Allah who has power over life and death. So people live as they live. Of course, what's happening is bad, but what can you do. It is up to the SFG to sort this mess.

He's blaming the Turkish presence but I think you understood it as they(Arabs) will target Somalia as long as Turkey is there. Nobody denies the rivalry between UAE and Turkey, but this Arab prick is alluding that Turkey's presence is feeding the clan sentiments as they clearly have one dimensional approach to solving Somalia's problem.
He's using the widespread sentiments that Turkey is not impartial in Somali affairs to score points against Turkey. But you read it as a threat that they will cause a civil war as long as Turkey is in Somalia.

I will not be grateful to Turkey because they built some training ground for Mogadishu. Turkey is pushing for a more centralized Somalia which is against the interest of my people. You should be grateful though, they do a lot for your people.

Erdogan has done great things for Mogadishu, I just don't want the Turks taking sides in internal Somali politics. Things like the formation of the SNA are internal, and in my view the Turks have too much of a hand in this matter. I don't care if Turkey builds hospitals in Mogadishu, I just don't want them to be in charge of how and where the SNA are recruited and trained.
Reer Konfuur needs that base badly. Not including PL/SL, Al-Shabab has full control of 15 districts and have a huge presence in SFG/FMS's sphere of influence. The old way of doing things must come to an end and I applaud Farmaajo for basing his stabilization plan around the turkish base. His next step is to ensure the recruits that were trained by Turkey are paid on time in order for them not to defect to the other side. We cannot afford to continue to let our SNA soldiers defect to the other side for better pay like they have been doing the past few years. It just offers a lifeline to AS and prolongs the civil war.
Besides, it will be the SFG, not Turkey, who will decide in the end the composition of the force that gets trained in the base.
No the 1 million IDP are mostly Al-Shabab. The Al-Shabab wives are fed in IDP camps in Mogadishu.

This all down to incompetence and corruption. When you eat the money that's supposed to go to your soldiers and only hire your incompetent qat-addled cousin, this sort of thing is gonna happen. Any intelligent leader would've put a complete lockdown and curfew on Mogadishu along time ago. All foreigners need to be kicked out and only high officials and dignitaries should be allowed in. The EU should find JD cards for all the residents and all business conducted in daylight with strict supervision and monitoring. There should be troops in every section of the city with Martial Law in effect.

Al Shabab will not be defeated in our lifetime. Only small clan Al Shabab terrorists are executed and they are only executed because there is an excuse to execute someone from a small clan.
I suspect Farmajo and Kheyre are weak on the terrorists because the bulk of Al Shabab are related to them.
