facts, somali women are the biggest co-signers of misogyny in the Somali community. I have never heard of a somali abo make fun of his daughter for being too dark or told her to lighten up. I have never seen them tell their nephews/nieces either but you see Somali women pushing this on to 13 year old girls they’re not even related to.

exactly. I don't hear somali men talk about skin colour as much. it's always the women saying "no man will marry you for being too dark" or something along those lines. they push their insecurities onto young girls.

it’s true that a lot of Somali men do prefer lighter skin, but they’re not so vocal about it. At the end of the day 80% of Somali women in Somalia aren’t lightskin, and they’re all still getting wifed up.
