I am sick and tired of african American wannabees.
Black and white is a European terminology and African Americans inherited it and its their world view.
Ask yourself does a dane or a swede consider himself white? No he identifies with his ethnicity. The same with any african.
As for arab it's a nebulous term and a large umbrella allot of people can fit in.

I speak fluent arabic in several dialects , culturally I am as arab as I am western .
My arab friends and colleagues are horrified when I make fun of arabs and refer to them "as you arabs ". They ask me aren't you arab yourself I laugh and I tell them don't be ridiculous I am somali.
I enjoying seeing their faces when I rubb somali superiority in their faces.
Then on other occasion I would say " we arabs " and identify with arabism.
Confuses the hell out of them.

We're definitely closer to Arabs than Blacks. But we're still not Arabs with Arabs we have shared culture with Blacks we have 0 in common. She is American raised with Black americans so she has more in common with them I doubt she can speak Somali.
