Deals are made and profits plus infrastructure are kept by the government, it's not that difficult to understand. The two companies who were competing for berbera were Ballore and DP, Ballore wanted a 90 year lease or something ridiculous, we took the better deal, these koonfuris should worry about becoming a functioning country

good port lease deals should have no objection form me. however giving away 19% + 51(maybe more) = 70%(maybe more) to foreigners is bloody stupid just like the southerners did with turkey atleast try and get 40%..

Also if your "government" gets 30% (at most if you're lucky) the zoom/ali elders on top will get most of that 30% you'll be left with approximately 3-8%(at most) for the ppl and even that would be stolen by corrupt elders meaning the commoners wou'd get at most 1% if we calculate for southern somalia the commoners wou'd get 4%.

Then they might decide to start claiming extra and then extra until they own the port and pay their mercenaries and somali elders to prevent uprisings.These arabs are playing good politics that the local somalis wont understand.

However small improvements and international deals with foreign shipping compaines that you settle for a payment plan can make the necessary improvements.

Kid, do you even know how the 19% came to be? And what clauses have to be met to make it binding. The original deal was 65-35 between uae and Somaliland, which is not bad at all. UAE gave up 14% and SL 5% so that Ethiopia would consider this as their main import export port for a certain percentage of their goods. There are also other things which have to be met to make the 19% binding
