The best books on Somali history were written in English or Italian by Italian, British, and American scholars. The best Somali historians write in English.

Almost everything written in Somali is of lower quality.

I believe that is a dhullo former MP in PL who was captured on the frontlines and held prisoner by SL in 2023. They treated him pretty badly, slapped him around, pulled on his beard, insulted him and recorded it all. They were treated much better when arrested.

Scholars wrote in Arabic, English, and Italian. Books written in Somali are most likely translated from those languages
