After war 77 Somalia joined USA team and dumped the communist ideology. Plus there was mortgage for public sector workers, private construction companies did mortgages, and Somali temporary workers in gulf built their own houses. Plus, we had good middle class people (Doctors, teachers, healthcare sector, pilots, lawyers....)
