tomorrow friday. if you want unbiased facts, its here: both parties knew results as early as tuesday night, one day after polls closed. both candidates knew who won by then because each of their observer at each of the thousands poll stations counted their votes, signed the results, put a copy in each ballot boxes and took a copy of the results to district center where they tallied again all the districts votes, repeated the above procedures then moved on to regional votes to tally again the total region (6 regions), by now you can see all three parties have Preliminary results. then all 6 regions were scheduled to send all the balots to national election commisions headquarter for final recount and check.
on wednesday, waddani disputed the results and demanded recount. it was granted and recount was done. same results. on thursday NEC decided to declare official results and asked the parties signature but still waddani demanded gabilay and maroodijeex ballots to be checked for fake voting papers they suspected were stashed at some point without their observers presence (observers are obliged to be present at all times).
on thursday, results were postponed. and waddani refused to work with nec due to percieved corruption and vote rigging (no credible explanation given except that the ballots were stashed with fake votes printed illegally). NEC announced they are waiting to check gabilay and mjeex ballots for irregularities. final announcement due friday.
today in the evening waddani supporters on hearing waddani stopped cooperating witj NEC protested the percieved vote rigging and burned tires. mostly kids. police dispersed them and no further problems. the parties are working on to fix the issues asap.
since kulmiye is the ruling party, its expected someone would try to tamper with the votes but so far nothing srs. both parties were blamed trying to intimidate the process at some places.
with that being said, since this minor inconvenience caused the results to be leaked, kulmiye is said to be ahead with 70k votes indicating a landslide victory, with claim that even if gabilay votes and some marodijeex are canceled they will still maintain a slight margin over waddani. that is if no duplicate/fake arent found in other regions as well.
