The moryaans were opposed to a new PL business being opened so fighting broke up and they ran away

sanger the houses and trading units belong to Puntlanders and people from Galmudug trade in them and pay rent to the owners therefore making it a shared trading and market place.

Now the owners from Puntland want their houses and trading units back for renovations and give it for rent to other Puntlanders.

The Galmudug renters don’t want that and want the places to be rented out to people from Galmudug because they don’t want to share their areas with some Puntlanders.

The owners in return are saying it is theirs and they will rent it to anyone they want.

The problem is Galmudug renters know they’ll be evicted one by one and the places they vacated will be given to Puntlanders.

So they decided to fight instead than to lose their place of trading one by one as they rent this places and the owners want them out.

I am conflicted as I see the previous error of renting this places out.

Today they want to reverse that but at what price?

Galmudug people are already in the shadow of their North Gaalkacyo folks because Gaalkacyo is settled not only by a subclan but a combination of MJ and Darood clans.

Galmudug don’t want to lose any inch further because this would reduce their already small share of the town.

They will not let go. The problem is Puntlanders allowed them back to get some peace and allowed them to rent in thrma main central market to teade.

Interestingly, the building is located less than 100 steps from the Hormuud building according to the Nabadoon . Hormuud is a few meters away from jidka 30ka, in the far south end of the town.

And they still say "half Gaalkacyo is on our side"

Gaalkacyo central market reopens after it was shut for few days because of disagreement between businessmen from Galmudug and Puntland about a trade unit belonging to Puntlanders but rented to Galmudug people.

The dispute was resolved partially under a tree in the traditional way where the administrations of the city, elders and youth cane together to stop it escalating any further.

The influential so called elder of North Gaalkacyo Yaasin Cabdisamad cried foul this morning and abused his cousin the mayor of Gaalkacyo on Puntland’s side to have taken peace without his consent.

He said he cannot be an elder for North Gaalkacyo anymore when the people there have no spine and sign everything in Galmudug’s favour for exchange of peace.

The same business in Puntland administered Gaalkacyo who were pushing for combat are leading the efforts for peace and everything to stay the same because Galmudug managed to shut the whole central market unless they are allowed to rent the homes and trading units that were first leased to them some twenty years ago.
