She is right, it's only the free speech warriors that think what she says is wrong.
Social media is far from free speech or giving voice to the voice less, it's giving voice to a vocal small minority that monpolizes the discussions, in many cases as we have seen with that Finish Biracial guy in charge of the ''Southport Wakeup'' telegram group or the Dubai Turkish couple in charge of ''Europe Invasion'' twitter account, there are individuals, psyops and outside actors manipulating discourse and flaming tensions in various places, spreading disinformation.
They also miss the point about the problem with Social Media its not even about freedom of speech or limiting speech, its about usage and how people are using it. Social media platforms such as twitter/X are incentivizing usage in one certain way, leveraging emotions like anger, resentment, envy to evoke repeat compulsive use , manipulated by algorithms and like/rt/view functions. So for people think they are in control is laughable, you sign up to it and it turns you into an asocial robot, who is tapping on his phone screen repeatedly.
It's the way in which they have designed these platforms that is the problem. A simple content moderation is not going to fix this.
Also there is point to mention that mental illness in the west has sky rocketed due to the introduction of Social Media.

It's practically a cesspit that exploits human negativity bias to farm engagement, any nuanced balanced or fair assessment of anything is pushed aside. You need to be loud and crazy and over the top.

Ngl if I had anything to do with it, I'd ban all foreign apps in Somalia. Make Somali versions of tiktok, twitter, Facebook ect. That are owned by Somali companies and monitored by the Somali State.
It could be possible to exert some type of control, if the government could take over the various telecom companies.
With that being said government control is not going to be able to fix the problem alone with Social media. For example China extends massive control over social media and have banned foreign ones, but the access to Social media which operates much like their western counterparts has led to millions glued to their smart phones
Look at his whole streets and alleyways in China where people pose for social media like its an epidemic at this point.
That's true, I honestly have no solution. Even if you have insane control on Online content there's still gonna be people negativley affected by the internet.
It's the design and concept of social media, that's the problem. So you can fix it
There was a 2nd part to the documentary i posted in that other post, where they mapped out and offered solutions and the rationale behind it, but it's no longer on the web because there was a fall out between the producers. Luckily the 1st discussion , someone saved it and re-uploaded it. It cut into the capitalist incentive of social media.
This professor talking in the video is one of the founders of wikipedia and was part of the early creation of the Internet.

By this i actually mean that if social media companies implement the right type of solutions, they may not be making billions of dollars but maybe a couple of 100 millions. Right now they are geared towards making the maximum amount profit by having as many eyeballs on the screens so they can get more advert revenue and hence the addiction/negativity leveraging features built into these applications.
They should ditch the advert model instead and do a full subscription model.
Newspapers online have moved towards a subscription fee model and its has proved to be lucrative. Take new york times as an example.

It's pointless to accuse companies like Facebook and Twitter in breach of privacy of their users when they do not a pay single dime to use it, that's why those companies are trading your information for money. Nothing is actually free. You either pay or you pay in other ways like your sanity, freedom and privacy. So turning to subscription model will also enhance privacy and protect users.
Freedom of speech should exist, but this doesn't exempt you from punishment, these fringe minority groups online only get a following due to society's standard of living declining due to socio-political issues.
It should be monitored depending on the extreme views or ideas that’s used if they’re inspiring future terrorist or terrorism. But that doesn’t mean the Government should get involved in ruling social media. Social media is for the public not for the government.
If social media should be restricted by the government then the government shouldn’t hide information away from their citizens.

They should change the design and implementation of features in social media is what i am saying. That is going to change how people use the platforms. So it's not a question of limiting speech, or restricting it, its about usage. Incentive systems usually determine usage.
They should change it also into narrative platforms and encourage story telling, that would greatly limit the disjointed posts and random factoids/bits being thrown around like an avalanche. It's pretty harrowing to be on those platforms, in the way you get flooded constantly with info. Storytelling on the other hand is therapeutic.
They should also localize the platforms interactions, convert away from a network model.
Then after that what they can do is community moderation, where the users take part in moderating content and posts themselves. Not the way X does with community notes, that's not enough, that can be apart of it but much more extensive.
There was a few other solutions in that docu series that was taken down but i can't recall all of them but they don't really all involve government overreach or monitoring
