its 5:54am in cairo right now. Plane was supposed to be on the ground at 2:45am egypt time. No contact from pilots. Even if they lost radio communications, they could squawk a code (7700) to tell ATC they lost communication.

Allahu naxriisto to all those on board. I'm just wondering now what the cause was.

15 minutes before it was due to land, do they know where in Egypt? It says the Greek authorities are aiding them with the search. More than likely it's in the sea somewhere like that Malaysian flight.

it depends on the duration of the flight. Most short-medium haul flights have 2 pilots. Long haul-Ultra Long hauls can vary between 3-4 pilots.

A flight like this (3-4hrs) needs only 2 pilots. Anything beyond 8hrs requires 3-4.

Suicide pilot I think. A lot of French and Europeans on board most likely and if done by a pilot it would create mayhem for the airline business , high impact terrorist attack if this is the case. Bin Laden started the most terrifying meme of all time.
