The deal was signed the year before saaxib, they started construction last year. Got confused myself because 2 months is not enough time.

The deal was followed by another with the UAE, signed in March, for a military base a few kilometers down the road.

UAE had their own building company do the construction and all of that, SL only signed a deal. In the end that base is legally Somaliland property, it will given to SL after the lease is done in 30 years.

Puntland troops have professional appearance; their uniforms and their vehicles are on point at least in comparison to Somaliland yet their salaries aren’t being paid on time. Just makes no sense

They look well fed and professional. They do not loot nor set up check points/isbaaro. Unfortunately, Puntland politics is very militarised, and use the military for political purposes. Even the army chief is a presidential candidate.

Where did you see soldiers occupying a governmental building and then heading back to a freaking war front line.

Our soldiers deserve better, they are true heroes.
