I live in the west because the form of governing they have allows me to live in the west. The very fact that you're living in the West whilst advocating for Sharia negates any point you're making. Democracy works. Sure it can be abused, no system is perfect. Many western countries have similar jurisprudence of the Islamic faith. Western based democracy does not contradict the Islamic shariah for the most part. Everyone is entitled to believe and worship as they so desire. Be who they want to be as long as they don't push their agendas or acts upon others. It's basically the Sharia itself.
