A strong-state in Somalia is the ideal, and would be the fastest way to lift the country above complete poverty, but it would mean placing the Hawiye in charge as they control the capital, and people in Puntland cannot abide by that. I would rather we work our way up slowly than to have Hawiye in charge of the same state machinery as Siyaad Barre. Even 5% economic growth would not convince me to place any trust in such an arrangement, the risks would be too high imo.

Are you willing to tolerate Hawiye political domination so that Somalia can exit the Malthusian trap?

There is no such thing as Hawiye, Darood, Raxanweyn, Isaaq or any other bullshit clan. Only ethnic Somalis exist. All this qabiil bs is an illusion, snap out of it waryaa.

In an ideal Somali state, qabiil would be anon. Nobody gets to know anyone's qabiil. Brutal public executions would serve as punishment and deterrents. As for Hawiye controlling Xamar, what difference does it make? Xamar could be turned into a multi-qabiil city. There's lots of room for expansion.

This is why a needs Isaaqs.If we were in on this failed project called Somalia then the capital would be moved to Hargeisa and the state would have the entire north under it's control but it would be at the cost of Isaaqs completely dominating the political scene :siilaanyosmile:
