I am now very excited for Mark Carney and I will become a Liberal member again. I left the party about 10 years ago due to leftist Trudeau. Mark Carney is alot more fiscally and even more socially conservative than Poilievre. He's also anti-low skilled immigration.

He keeps talking about matching housing starts with immigration. That's not good enough. I want to hear concrete plans. I open to voting for him if he's alot more conservative. Carney is also against the diversity garbage and pleasing Sikhs for political gain. The more I read about him, the more I like him. He has Canadian born people of different backgrounds around him, unlike Pandering Pierre.

Trudeau will go down as the man who almost destroyed this country and the worst post-war leader in the west.

No way they will be able to fix anything in 10 years unless they make Canada an economic superpower. Also, they need to shake everything up completely. We need to become a more productive country that actually wants to build up the nation over not caring about it. I wish we had better Premiers who want to fix transportation, construction, education, housing, medical, and lastly the damn roads have so much holes if you go downtown. They gave up on this country.

Canada has a housing crisis problem and it's not due to immigration.

Migrants are often used as scapegoats by the elites to distract them from the real economic and structural problems.

I think the other problem is that Canada accepts a high number of students but it doesn't look like they give them lodging or stipends or grants etc for them to sustain themselves without a job. That's what leads them to cue in droves low skilled jobs. Before accepting them you need to ensure they have some way to support themselves.

The whole irony in this is that if it wasn't for these revolving temporary migrants injecting cash and resources into the country , the Canadian economy would have gone through multiple recessions long ago. The immigrants you dislike are paying for and subsidizing education and social services that you enjoy while not having the means to access it themselves.

It actually exposes Canada to be an oligopoly type of economy rather than a free market basically monopolies controlling things and these same elites that benefit from enriching themselves distract by pointing to migrants as the cause.

The migrant students can't afford to buy a home , can even barely even find any to rent and overwhelmingly they live in the most unsuitable housing conditions compared to the general population. So it makes no sense to blame them for the housing crisis. Housing prices are being set by speculators and investors instead of supply and demand.

Speculators leave millions of housing units vacant (Canada has 1.3 million vacant units about 6 years of supply) in order to manufacture scarcity.

There is also the fact that Canada closed it's borders to immigrants in 2020, so immigration went down yet housing prices still went up.
