I have read people say countless times that the mods on that subreddit are always banning or silencing people who are irreligious or who have fully integrated into western society so they wouldnt spread anything that would be antithesis to what it means to be "Somali". This was commonly done on various online Somali platforms since forever. Somalis and their policing of Somalis opposite to themselves only have themselves to blame for this.

Nah you should see its really changed. You will see people dunking on Islam, Somalia, and Somalis. You can not go a day without see something negative on that subreddit. Thats why SSpot is better as it has a more variety of posts from people.

Not only irreligious. Westernized Somalis are more emotionally stable and alot more self-aware than the rest of Somalis. They act like gentlemen/a lady. The non-westernized Somalis, which is almost all on Somali platforms like r/Somalia, are usually unhinged.

XSomalian whatever that sub is begs to differ. And the majority of r/Somalia are western somalis. Barely any non-western somalis use it.

When I say non-western, I mean Somalis who reject what the west stands for. I don't consider all Somalis who were born or grew up here to be western. Pig... horse stable... People dunk on you for your behaviour. You don't see Persians or Turks or Ethiopians or Tunisians being dunked on. They're a more balanced people and others see that. They don't groupthink like Somalis.

Eh not really. R/Somalia only really allows a specific, semi-liberal interpretation of Islam. There are certain Islamic beliefs you can't say there or will get downvoted to oblivion to that are considered politically incorrect or "backwards"

Lowkey I might divest from somalis, no logical discussion is possible and we brandish the worst of ourselves to the world to a degree I don't think any other community has.

As a guys that actually chills with other communities we really aren't that much worse than anyone else, but we refuse to not have all our negativity be at the forefront of our existence

R/xsomalian isn't really an ex Muslim community sub. It's more of a space for venting. Just ignore it

When I first found it I thought it would be a gaal version of r/Somalia but I was sadly disappointed.
