This western christian man learned Somali and went into the Somali areas of Nairobi to preach.

The people he was preaching to told him they would debate religion with him and reached out to some locals imams.

They held a public debate

They are still somalis nonetheless lol, do you want us to become like iranians who are only religious back home and irreligious in the diaspora?

He just means it would be abnormal and unacceptable to see a christian preaching in Somalia.

But for it to happen in Kenya or any other majority non-Muslim country there is a Somali diaspora in is normal. There have always been missionaries in the countries we have a diaspora in including Nairobi Kenya. It has not made us irreligious and is in fact an opportunity to spread Islam.

The Daee in the debate with the missionary is known to give dawah to and debate christians and many have converted to Islam.

They're upon misguidance yet have so much dedication and passion to preach and spread their faith to the point of learning foreign, obscure languages. We're upon the haqq and many of us keep it to ourselves with no drive or passion to spread it to others. Something to reflect on.
