Cambridge analytica encouraged young blacks not to vote

known as the doso movement they started a trend to encourage young people to not vote out of apathy. This led to YouTube videos, dances and music being made following the same theme.

If you have recently watched Netflix the great hack movement you will know that Cambridge analytica perfected their techniques in developing countries like Ghana, and Brazil before they moved on to Europe and the US.

This is very disturbing although the company is now closed they have moved on to found another one.

This is one of the reasons why I'm getting into the data science field. There is not enough diversity in the people designing these algorithms leading to human bias. It's mostly Indians/whites/Asians. I don't think I've ever met a single black person doing machine learning.

I was thinking that whilst watching the documentary. Not a single person non-white from the cambridge analytica team who are responsible for this. have You seen the documentary? I highly recommend it!

Yeah it was an interesting look into how data is being misused for nefarious means.

Imagine in the future three are algorithms that determine if someone is eligible for parole based on their probability to re offend. Now if you include race into the training data I'm pretty sure the accuracy would jump up but then that raises questions of ethics, where do we draw the line.

Is that not currently being down now? I’m pretty sure it’s used in the criminal justice system. In the U.K. we also use it for university admissions.

I wondered why Tech companies like Facebook and google had such a poor record for hiring black people now it’s starting to make more sense. Let’s just say if we had more diversity in these companies there would be a lot more whistleblowers.

Oh wow you're right. It's being done in America.

"Algorithms have a host of applications in today's legal system already, assisting officials ranging from judges to parole officers and public defenders in gauging the predicted likelihood of recidivism of defendants. COMPAS (an acronym for Correctional Offender Management Profiling for Alternative Sanctions) counts among the most widely utilized commercially available solutions. It has been suggested that COMPAS assigns an exceptionally elevated risk of recidivism to black defendants while, conversely, ascribing low risk estimate to white defendants significantly more often than statistically expected."

@Knowles @Siddhartha tbh I think this is much bigger than just racism. CA just does the job to whoever pays them the most. As seen in the video, the Hindus won against the blacks in Trinidad cus they got more reward from the Hindus. This is far bigger than racism. They're manipulating media and creating fake-news to influence DEMCRATIC elections + plus they're doing it by getting personal data through Facebook without people knowing what their data is being used for.

Will only get worse with realistic deep fakes and language models that can generate human like articles based on single sentence prompts

You will be told what to do and work within small teams all compartmentalized independent from each other, not knowing what the others are doing, like the infamous Manhatten project.

it's a lucrative field but to think you will somehow be independent and change there criminal ways is wishful thinking.

These are criminal enterprises constructed specifically to deliver the wishes of there billionaire donars and founders.

They have tried to recruit me aggressively a few times before they became well known using videos of how they are supposedly fighting crime in Africa to entice me.

I knew straight away they were crooks who specifically profiled me for one of there dirty schemes in Africa.

In Ancient studies including in the Islamic golden age, knowledge of thyself was the first thing you learned, after you finished it, it was very difficult for the satanic social engineers to manipulate you consciously or subconsciously.

But unfortunately we longer have this, hence the social engineers have a field day with a never ending supply of dupes and useful idiots ready to obey them without even knowing.

The social engineering isn't just excluded to swinging elections which is meaningless because they control both sides anyway.

They have instituted things far worse then that especially as it relates to the break up of family through feminism.

They promote atheism through pseudoscience, Rockefeller drug medicine over holistic natural medicine and the list goes on endlessly.

Are they only banned in the UK? I watched the documentary and FB will soon replace them and harvest our data legally and voluntarily. If they update the terms and conditions, no one bothers to read and we click accept which is the legal equivalent of a signature. I read what they did in Trinidad where they encouraged young blacks not to vote and the tiny Indian minority swept to power.

Hence why I’ve deactivated from Facebook a long time ago. They are advertising in Europe now to do damage control. Encouraging people by telling them they have privacy features. However, when they are being questioned by US senators they are telling them they have no control over who advertises on their platform and what happens to users’ data. If you haven’t watched it yet I would urge you to watch the Netflix show the great hack. It’s very chilling regarding how they helped Donald trump and the brexit vote.

Yeah, Cambridge Analytica has been a constant feature in the investigations of Trump and his orbiters that have been in trouble with law, like Michael Cohen, his lawyer, and the investigations pertaining to the Mueller report, etc. I’ll watch the Netflix doc.

@Knowles

I watched the documentary and saw congresswoman Alexandria Cortez grilling Mark Zuckerberg. The problems are legislations are lagging far behind the complex and ever changing world of social media. Furthermore, the next two generations would be flabbergasted with the notion of privacy when pictures of their genitalia will be all over social media. In western democracies, the media has always played a pivotal role in elections and that is why Rupert Murdoch became a kingmaker and even got away with hacking the phone of a murdered teenager and many other celebrities. New oil barons replacing old media proprietors. Fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride.
