Alhamdulillah, Earlier this year, I swapped my £165k 3 bed Kent home, for a West London 5 bed property, that I've found out to be worth a whopping £1.2million. I think, I have cracked the property game.

Congratulations walaal, you are one of the very few Somalis in London who owns property. I’ve met timo jileec who own like 5 houses and make a fortune renting out their property. I wished Somalis invested in property in the UK before the prices went up but unfortunately they arrived too late.

Who pays the stamp duty tho. It is going to be sizable considering the difference in prices between both properties?

You must have paid a big percentage at the beginning to pay off a mortgage in 3 years. Congrats.

Saxiib, I share all of my personal stories, from success like this thread, work, to even terrible times like when I was robbed for my family KFC bucket meal by a group of school boys. I'm building up a rapport with fellow Somalis, I hope to be leading in the not to distant future.

Not really, the ones that came in the 1990's could have bought one then for cheap, everyone else had the recession. In 08/09.

I'm always asked, why do I share personal information and photos on this forum and Twitter? The reason for that is, I have political aspirations.

My plans are, withing the next five to ten years, to move to Somalia. I want to establish a boat manufacturing company in Bari. I want to do my part for the country, I want to provide jobs, and help the people in any way I can.

In Sha Allah, with that I want to do my part. I want to familiarise myself to the land and the people, and for them to get to know me. Once I have achieved that, then I want to run for either Puntland or Jubbaland President.

I don't want to be the typical person of the diaspora, who takes money from mothers for his campaign, who comes to the country and straight away runs for office, without doing a damn thing for the people first.

It is with that wish, I hope to help our people and country.

*This depends on the economy. If theres a drought, I wont make anything. If we wont survive elections, I might take more.

To be honest, I did this because I did not live in London. No way in hell could you find a 3 bed property for under 300k. Also, I'm sure there are plenty of Somali homeowners. Not everybody lives in council homes or is a private renter.

Would you believe me if I told you, I don't have no friends. The success that I have today, both financial and career wise, is down to not having a social life. Even before I got married and became a dad, I've always been about work work work. Those are the sacrifices I've had to make.

Where I’m from it’s a lot of jealousy and envy but there are also a lot of qasaaro Somali boys which undoubtedly will undertake the responsibility of slaying Madow as a forte.
