there werent any russian generals. the russians (and french iirc) offered to send advisors to ethiopia but they declined. you're right about the second italo-ethiopian war tho

Thier was a rumor that ethiopian had russian advisors and volunteers but it was based on a random russian diplomat who visited after adwa

The Conquest of Harar by Menelik was assisted by the British & French.
There was always foreign advisors to menelik.
Even Britain did not want Italy to take over Abysinia.
Menelik wasnt a strong figure because he was always under house arrest by former Abysinian emperors I think it was Yohanes who was killed by the Mahdi who fought both the British and Abysinians.

the berlin conference happened in 1885 and the battle of adwa happened in 1896 almost 10 years after the Europeans had agreed on their territorial division of Africa so that means the British wouldn't care if Italy had invaded ethiopia
not to forget Britain fought a war with ethiopia after tewodros kidnapped British tourists in 1867 so the British and french were not close friends of Ethiopia also the fact the Ethiopians had a territorial dispute with France over Djibouti

A language doesn't mean shit...A country can adopt a language without being a language of majority of not...Like in Kenya Kikuyus are social-econonically dorminant but the national language is Swahili.
