You must not know a lot of families then. Even 5 years ago it was uncommon to hear somali people celebrating thanksgiving. Nowadays you will see Somalis celebrating thanksgiving/friendsgiving with no shame

Of the gaalo holidays/festivities, Somalis celebrate New Years Eve/Day (which recognizes the ancient Roman God who symbolizes new beginnings/a fresh new start), independence day (gaalo struggles) and then Halloween (Christian), in that order. Funnily enough, I was never allowed to trick or treat growing up despite all my Somali friends doing so. I was robbed of that day year after year.

I expect Christmas to be in the top 5 this decade, if not already.
