This is terribly wrong, now those houthis will see us as a enemy state. Somaliland should not go ahead with this.

  • Assab is dangerously close to Northern Yemen.
  • The rag-tag Houthi rebels do not have military capabilities of sending missiles to Berbera.
  • The UAE are not using the airport of Berbera(i think), but they're definitely building a new one
Depending on what version of the SCUD they actually might be able to fire at Berbera. It's a long range ballistic missile that can reach up towards 700km. Berbera is approximately 550km away from the capital of Yemen.

Although I highly doubt they would waste a ballistic missile on Berbera since it would be a waste of resource. They have the Saudi's to worry about and Saudi warehouse of those types of missiles is modern and big compared to the Houthi rebels.

Especially with the recent deal between the US and KSA, the Saudis will be increasing their offensive and defensive against the Houthis.

The Saudi are by no means losing that war, if that is what you're implying.

Why are people feeling sorry for Yemen all of a sudden. Back in the day in the 77 war against Ethiopia were they not siding with the christians.
They helped the soviet and Cubans defeat us. I got family members who died in that war.
Also let's ask ourselves this question
How did Yemeni people treat the Somali refugees who fled the war?
Them midgets are evil.
I say bomb the s#^t out of them!

Somaliland has more to gain from this than to lose.
1. Berbera to wajaale road
2. Berbera port development
3. Berbera airport development
4. Water issue - xumbawayne dam already completed.

There are more stuff, but this is all I can think of on top of my head.

@horumar I've come back from Somaliland last month. Things are improving and it looks like the UAE are sticking to their word.
I can tell you that the road from Berbera to hargeisa has started. They are widening the road I think they want to make it 4 lanes or 6. Not to mention the road from Berbera to dacarbudhuq was already smooth.
I don't know much about Berbera only went there for a day. But I did see a lot of construction so that's positive. My sources told me RRU have been keeping the locals at bay. No one is allowed to enter the port.

I just wish we had better less corrupt leaders than Ina xaashi and Zamzam. Because the kulmiye admin are on their way out. They have left the coffers empty. The government is actually broke. I hope we get better leaders who ever wins the next election.

@Dhay Geel can confirm berbera road widening scheme as I've seen it myself this year. Very professional operation with clear signs in English and Somali notifying an incoming diversion.

I do hope the revampt road from Berbera can utilise more viaducts than the Irish crossings/bridges of the past which gets swamped during rainy season.

Additionally, there seemed to be a spur of development in berbera with shiny new offices/buildings + another fibre optic cable coming in I believe.

I'm hearing when they get to around haleya they want to divert from the hargeisa traffic and build a ring road. This this true?

The Saudi's are barely fighting they are sending missiles. There is no attrition on Saudi's side. You think they bought billions worth of military equipment for nothing? Their warehouses is full saaxib.

The youtube video you linked adds nothing to our conversation, it's a song.

So do you think that the houthis will sit by idly while getting attacked from Berbera? They have shown to possess missles that can easily reach Berbera, since the distance between Berbera and Yemen isn't big.

Me personally I don't think the hourhis can do anything to Somaliland. Why don't the hourhis attack asab, it's much closer and it's already in full operation?
