My hair is long enough to get some decent twists/braids but they think it’s gay to do so. Even though I’m sure the Prophet (PBUH) used to braid his hair. How should I convince them? Convincing them to let me grow my hair out was hard enough.

what did you do to convince your hooyo to let you grow out your hairI showed her a picture of my hair when I got the #1 cut. I looked miserable and she said “Haye, laakin not too crazy hair”. Right now my hair is mid length, probably 4-8 more months before it becomes really long.
are you planning on cutting it to make sure it doesn't get too longNah. I’m growing it to my shoulders, then I’ll get twists.
only advice I can give you is just beg I’m blessed with 4A hair. I can make it curly and make it look 3b/3c. I can get amazing twists and braids and I can get dreads.
