Culturally Oromo man of Somali origin going back home to learn the Somali language and culture

A culturally Oromo man of Dir origin from Balbaleti, Oromia who is originally from Borama, Awdal (Reer Axamed, JY) wants to learn his language and return home after his family migrated to Oromia well over a century ago. Amazing how he still knows his abtirsi really well.

Habesh diaspora gone for over a century knows entire abtirsi while diaspora kids here for barely 1/3 of that time can't even name their qabiil :chrisfreshhah:

Adal was honestly something else. it was the only Islamic empire in the Horn that brought all the Cushites together. All the qabils that were mentioned in Futuh-al-Habasha are ancient clans with an immensely historical background.
I'm sure we have other clans not just Gedabursi who were perhaps lost in the process of annexing Abyssinia.

There's an Oromo clan in Wollo Amhara region that claims paternal descent from Habar Awal Sacad Muuse settlers that came during the futah al habesh so your theory is actually right :damn:

Oromos are known to fabricate stories so they can pretend to be Somali. There are "Somalis" whose recent DNA results show Shegato Oromo roots.

There are quite a few Reer Awdal who have been in Oromia for a long time.

One of the most famous Oromo singers, Yonis Abdulahi, is Reer Awdal (Gadabursi):

They should give somalia/somaliland citizenship to these people so that they have the same rights as every other somali

It's fine if they don't know their abtirsi and qabil. If diaspora kids come back to somalia they'll be the only non qabilist people and would help rebuild what the older generation destroyed because of tribal warfare

Anyone who says they are lost Somali, should not be accepted without hard proof evidence.

Like them having Somali DNA: E-Y18629/T-BY181210.

It's not uncommon. There are many dir subclans who became assimilated oromos
I’m aware but this fella is not claiming those Dir that are known to be subject to Oromo assimilation he’s claiming Beesha Gadabursi. We uphold our Lineage & guard it. Anyway his claim is from over a century ago. He’s not one of us anymore even if it’s true.
